What happens to calls that need me before it launches?
+
Miya takes the caller's details and marks the call needs you, with notes you can read before ringing back. The caller is told you will call them, so they know what happens next. Growth and larger plans attach a three-line recap to each of these calls.
Who needs a briefed hand-off from Miya?
+
Businesses where some calls need a person straight away: an electrician with a no-power call, a clinic with an anxious patient or an agency with a keen buyer. Miya will take the details first, then pass the caller on with a short briefing, so nobody has to repeat themselves or wait for a call back.
What does a warm transfer do?
+
It hands a caller to another person after explaining who they are and why they are calling, so the conversation picks up where it left off. The caller never has to repeat themselves. RingOut's warm transfer is coming soon and will let Miya brief you before connecting a caller.
What is a warm transfer vs a cold transfer?
+
In a warm transfer the next person is briefed before the caller is connected. In a cold transfer the call is passed straight through with no introduction, so the caller usually starts again. They take a few seconds longer but leave callers feeling looked after.
How do you do a warm transfer?
+
Put the caller on hold, call the colleague, explain who the caller is and why they rang, then connect them. RingOut's planned version will have Miya do this for you, briefing your mobile before she connects the call, so you pick up already knowing what the caller needs.
What is the difference between a warm handoff and a cold handoff?
+
A warm handoff includes an introduction and context, while a cold handoff passes the call on without either. The briefed version usually leaves callers happier because nothing has to be repeated, and the person taking the call can help straight away instead of asking questions again.
When will RingOut's warm transfer be available?
+
There is no launch date yet. Join the waitlist on this page to be emailed as soon as it's ready. In the meantime Miya still picks up every call, and anything that needs you lands at the top of your call list with the caller's name and number.
Is call forwarding the same as a warm transfer?
+
No. A call forwarding service, or the call forwarding phone system in many offices, sends calls straight to another number with no introduction. Business call forwarding is how you send calls to RingOut today, while warm transfer is the planned step that briefs you first.
Can Miya transfer to more than one person?
+
Yes, that is the intended design, working with call routing so different calls can go to different people. For example, urgent jobs could go to the on-call worker and billing questions to the office manager. Both warm transfer and call routing are coming soon to every RingOut plan.
What is AI call transfer?
+
AI call transfer is when an AI receptionist passes a live call to a person, ideally with a briefing first. RingOut's AI call transfer is in development, with launch news going to the waitlist first. Until it launches, Miya takes a message for any caller who wants you directly.
Will warm transfer cost extra?
+
Not decided yet. Warm transfer is coming soon, and its price will be shown before you can switch it on. Your current subscription stays exactly as it is meanwhile, so nothing changes on your bill unless you decide to add transfers for your business.
Does joining the warm transfer waitlist cost anything?
+
No. The waitlist is free, needs no card and does not start a trial or a bill. You leave your email, and we tell you when warm transfer is ready, so you can decide then whether to add it to the RingOut plan you already have.
