See pricingUnanswered calls each week × 4.33 × booking share gives bookings a month. Bookings × job value gives revenue, and revenue × margin gives profit. The saving is monthly profit minus the plan fee, and the yearly figure is twelve times that. Plan fees are AUD ex GST and leave out any extra minutes.
A missed call calculator is a tool that estimates the revenue a business loses when calls go unanswered, using call volume, the share of callers who would buy and the value of a typical sale.
It works from four figures:
RingOut's version adds a comparison with our plans, so you can see the number of bookings that covers the fee. Miya, our AI receptionist, answers the calls behind these numbers once you divert your existing number, books jobs into Google Calendar or Calendly, and suits businesses that lose calls while on the tools or with clients.
Each result comes from a short chain of multiplication, laid out here so you can check it against your own records.
Your weekly figure is multiplied by 4.33, the average number of weeks in a month, to give unanswered calls per month.
That monthly count is then scaled by the portion of callers you expect would book, giving the bookings at stake.
Bookings times your average job value gives revenue, and revenue times your margin gives profit.
Monthly profit is divided by the fee of the plan you picked, and the tool counts the bookings needed to pay for that plan.
Most of these figures already sit in records you keep for other reasons.

Think about the last ten enquiries that reached you. The number that turned into paid work is a sensible booking share to begin with.
Divide last month's invoiced total by the number of jobs. Leave out one-off large projects so the average reflects normal work.
Your accountant, or the profit and loss report in your accounting software, will show what is left from each dollar after materials and wages.
Count both in your weekly figure. A caller who leaves a message or rings after closing still waited without reaching anyone.
Starter suits one number and up to 60 minutes a month, while Growth adds recordings, transcripts and summaries for busier lines.
When your number diverts to RingOut, calls that would have rung out reach Miya.
It measures the revenue and profit linked to calls nobody answers. You enter weekly unanswered calls, how many of those callers would book, an average job value and your margin, and the tool turns those into monthly and yearly figures.
It is as accurate as the figures you put in. A real week of call records and last month's invoices give a far closer result than a guess, and running both a quiet week and a busy week shows you the likely range.
Yes. A caller who reached voicemail did not get an answer when they rang, so include those calls in your weekly count. If you return some of them quickly and still win the work, lower the booking share slightly to allow for that.
RingOut charges $49 a month ex GST for Starter, with Growth at $149, Professional at $399 and Business at $699, and yearly billing takes two months off each. The calculator shows how many bookings a month would cover the plan you choose, based on your own job value and margin.
No. Miya answers incoming calls only and does not make outbound or sales calls. The idea is to pick up the first time a customer rings, which leaves fewer people to chase later in the day.
Pick the plan closest to your monthly call minutes. Starter includes 60 minutes and one number, Growth includes 250 minutes and adds recordings, transcripts and summaries, and Professional includes 900 minutes with spam call screening. The ROI calculator can pick one from your minutes.
Yes. Enter only the calls that arrive outside your opening hours and the result shows what that slice of demand is worth. Comparing it with your full weekly figure shows how much of the lost revenue comes from evenings and weekends.
Divert the calls you can't get to, and Miya answers them in your business name, then books the work or takes the details.
