What does an AI receptionist for dental practices do?
+
It answers patient calls, books check-ups, cleans and treatment appointments, places dental pain into emergency slots you hold, and answers questions about fees, health funds and opening hours from your notes. Your front desk can focus on patients in the practice instead of the ringing phone.
Does it give dental advice?
+
No. Miya never diagnoses, suggests treatment or comments on symptoms. Patients in pain are offered your next emergency slot, and anyone describing facial swelling with trouble breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding or a serious injury is told to ring 000.
Can it answer health fund and CDBS questions?
+
Yes, from the information you write. Miya can explain that you use HICAPS, describe payment plans and repeat your notes on the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. She does not work out a patient's rebate or check eligibility herself. If your fees change, updating the notes changes what Miya says from the next call.
Does it connect to dental practice software?
+
Not yet. Bookings can go into Google Calendar or Calendly, which some practices use on its own. Others use it alongside their practice software by copying bookings across, with each patient call summarised in the RingOut dashboard. Each summary states the patient, appointment type and reason for calling.
How is patient privacy handled?
+
Saved recordings, transcripts and notes are stored in Sydney, and live audio is processed by US speech services without being kept there. Health providers are covered by the Privacy Act regardless of size, so tell patients how calls are handled in your privacy notice.
How much does an AI receptionist for dental practices cost?
+
Plans start at $49 monthly on Starter with 60 minutes. Most dental practices choose Growth at $149, which includes 250 minutes and call recordings, while group practices often pick Professional at $399. Prices are AUD excluding GST, and setup is free.
