What does an accountant answering service do?
+
It answers your practice phone, books tax return and business appointments, takes new client intake, answers document, fee and lodgement timing questions from your notes, and records client messages for the right accountant. RingOut does this as an AI receptionist for accountants, so several calls are answered at once during tax time.
How does it compare with a virtual receptionist for accountants?
+
It does the same job. A virtual receptionist for accountants is often a call centre that takes messages. RingOut books the appointment on the call, reads your document checklist and handles tax-time peaks with several calls at once, for a flat monthly fee rather than per call.
Will it give clients tax advice?
+
No. Miya never comments on deductions, liabilities, structures or what a client should claim. She records the question and passes it to the client's accountant. This keeps every piece of tax advice with your registered tax agents. If a caller presses for an answer, Miya offers a booking with their accountant instead.
How does it cope with tax season?
+
Miya answers several clients at the same moment, from two on Starter to twelve on Business, so July does not mean long holds. Many practices move up to Professional for the season and back down afterwards, as plans can change monthly.
Can it link to our practice management system?
+
Not yet. Appointments can be booked into Google Calendar or Calendly, and each client call is summarised in RingOut with the entity and request, ready to add to your practice management system as a task. Until a direct link exists, that daily copy usually takes a few minutes for a busy practice.
How much does an accountant answering service cost?
+
RingOut starts at $49 a month on Starter, with 60 minutes. Many practices sit on the $149 Growth plan outside tax season, then move to Professional at $399 from July to October, when 900 minutes and eight calls at once help. GST is charged on top, and setup carries no fee.
