Telling callers they're talking to an AI
Every call opens by telling the caller they're speaking with your business's AI assistant. This is built into Ringout and can't be switched off. If a caller asks, it never denies being an AI.
Call recording
Callers are told the call is recorded before recording begins. We treat every Australian call as needing the consent of everyone on it. Recording and listening-device laws differ between states and territories, so if your business has specific obligations, talk to us about the wording.
Privacy Act 1988 and the APPs
Personal information captured on calls is handled under the Australian Privacy Principles. Recordings, transcripts and call records are stored in Sydney; the live call is processed in the United States, which is a cross-border disclosure under APP 8. The details are on the privacy & data page.
Spam Act 2003
The texts and emails Ringout sends go to you, the business: missed-transfer messages, alerts and your weekly summary. They are account notifications, not marketing.
Do Not Call Register
Ringout answers inbound calls only. It doesn't make telemarketing calls on your behalf.
